OUR STORY
“I learned how to grow a business before I ever heard the word ‘marketing.’"
Hi, I'm Jamie Shibley, founder of The Expressory. Here's where this whole obsession with relationships actually started.

My grandfather ran a flower shop for forty years. He didn't have a website, a CRM, or a marketing budget. What he had was better. He knew his customers' names, their kids' names, and he knew exactly what they needed with just the name of an ocassion to be acknowledged.
People didn't drive past a hundred other options to find him. They came because he was the florist who remembered them, the guy their neighbor swore by, the name that came up at dinner when someone needed flowers and didn't want to think twice.
The only marketing I saw him spend money on was the yellow pages. Remember those? He simply managed relationships, built one customer at a time, for four decades.
That's the business school I actually went to.
THE PROBLEM
So what happened to all of that?
Digital marketing was supposed to make relationships easier. We'd have more touchpoints, more channels, more ways to stay in front of people. Instead, most of us ended up more reachable and less reached. Prospects, clients, referral partners, even our own teams have more options than ever for who they work with, and less patience for anything that feels automated or generic.
I call it the connection gap. It's the distance between how available we are and how known we actually feel.
Email, social media, and the quarterly newsletter were supposed to close that gap. Mostly, they just add to the noise. A virtual connection is not the same thing as a personal one and the businesses that forget that are the ones losing clients they never saw leaving.
WHAT I BELIEVE
The more digitized our work becomes, the less we relate to one another. And that's costing businesses more than they realize.

Approach everything with care and thoughtfulness.
Spread happiness, foster belonging, and build community.
Take initiative and deliver delightful service, without being asked twice.
Value well-being. Yours and ours.
THIS ISN'T JUST A NICE IDEA
I know this can sound like a warm, feel-good philosophy rather than a business strategy. It's both. Strategic engagement goes deeper than a card at the holidays or click-and-ship gifting. It's a methodology, grounded in psychology and storytelling, built to create real emotional connection with the people who matter most to your business.

This isn't a habit we're asking you to build on top of an already full plate. It's a system we can build and run for you. We want to make sure the right person hears from you at the right moment, in a way that actually feels like you, every single time.
No missed birthdays. No forgotten milestones. No generic touchpoint that could have come from anyone.
Care is not soft. It's strategic. And it's the whole reason The Expressory exists.
